4 stars

From Scala Theater going through Via Alessandro Manzoni to north, you can find this Poldi Pezzoli Museum in three minutes. Other buildings surround the museum but the entrance has a banner of "Museo" so let's find it.

Mr. Poldi Pezzoli, former aristocrat, collected these valuable collections on display. Not only paintings, medieval arms and watches, but also jewelries and sculptures are widely collected. This museum was also residence of Pezzoli so you can feel the atmosphere at the time while viewing the beautiful exhibits.

Please enjoy many famous works like "Portrait of a Lady" of Pollaiolo and "Virgin and Child" of Sandro Botticelli.

The first floor is composed of a big hall and a library. Most of the exhibits are found on the second floor. The water flows from the entrance sculptures and the spiral staircase leading to the second floor is decorated with works of art. You can enjoy the luxury of simple feeling truly European aristocracy. Since here is not too much touristic, it's possible to see the great works leisurely.
