Arezzo is a beautiful town located in the south of Florence (80km). It's also famous as the location of Roberto Benigni's Oscar-winning film, "Life Is Beautiful (La vita e' bella)". When you come to this town, please review the film before your visit.
Here you can enjoy the beautiful townscape of central Italy, with many beautiful architectures like the Saint Francis Church (Chiesa S. Francesco) and the Church of Santa Maria della Pieve etc.
On the first Sunday in September, a well-known traditional festival is held. It's called "Saracen Jousting Tournament (Giostra del Saracino)", a fighting against the dolls modeled like a Saracen. The town has also many antique shops. On the first Sunday (and one day before) of each month, a large antique market will be held in Piazza Grande, the heart of the town. Visiting the town in these days you'd feel a living history of Italy.
