Arezzo is located in the south of Florence (80km), and on the way of the from Rome to Florence, so if you move between these two cities please stop also in Arezzo.
To go to the historical center of the town it takes about 30 minutes by walk from the railway station. It's very convenient.
Eurostar, Intercity, and another local express train... three types of Rome-Florence
trains are running per hour, in total 5-6 trains.
Here is only a timetable of
the cheapest local express for those who travel economically.

If you use a local train, you can do "stopover" during your train trip. I was on tour to Florence from Rome, and decided to get off at Arezzo. It was great to see an extra one town. There are lots of interests in the beautiful small town of Arezzo. (September 2006)
